HAWICK-based MSP John Lamont has voiced concerns that Pringle will continue to trade on its Scottish heritage, despite ceasing manufacturing in the town.
Speaking to the Hawick News after it was revealed on Monday that the firm was proposing to keep only a head office and sales branch in Hawick, the Tory MSP stated: "With the closure of the manufacturing base in the town, I am concerned that their operation in Hawick will be reduced to a token presence of a small office. The company's reputation is based on their Scottish heritage, but there is a danger that this office will be the only Scottish part of an overwhelmingly overseas company."
