Tesco want to sell booze at 6am.

Talks are taking place to allow a city centre supermarket to sell alcohol from 6am.

A Tesco Express store is due to open in Empire House, Church Street, Preston, later this summer.

And supermarket bosses want it to open between 6am and 11pm, selling alcohol for 17 hours every day.

Licensing police have objected to the plans and are in talks with Tesco, asking the supermarket chain to agree to a number of conditions on its licence to ensure the business operates problem-free.
