Mariners fans saw the good Carlos Silva last Saturday. Thursday night, they'll get an indication of whether that Silva is going to stick around for a while.
Silva allowed two runs over seven innings in San Diego, pitching the middle game of the Mariners' first three-game sweep of the season. He got the win, something that hadn't happened in his previous 12 starts.
It's going to take a lot more wins to pay off the four-year, $48 million commitment the Mariners made to sign Silva last winter, and the right-hander will look to make it two in a row when he faces off against Detroit's Justin Verlander at Safeco Field.
