FAIRFIELD, N.J. -- Ivy-Dry Inc. has been providing effective treatments for poison ivy, poison oak, poison sumac and insect bites for more than half a century.
For most of that time the company has avoided entering the so-called protective, or block, segment of the market because there just wasn't anything there that really worked, executives say. Dozens of other companies made claims, they note, but when one looked into the science there was nothing that was actually effective.
