MARK HAWTHORNE will strive to ensure Horsham are in peak physical condition for the new season.
The midfielder, 34, was named as the Hornets' new assistant manager last week, and has put fitness to the top of his agenda.
"First and foremost my aim is to get the players as fit as I can, I think we need to work on fitness," he commented".
"The game has changed a lot from when I was younger, there is a lot more emphasis on fitness and nutrition it's so much more professional now. If we can get them as fit as I can it's an exciting young squad if we can get the new players to knit together.
