PROTESTERS battling a controversial scheme for a huge open cast mining project on their doorstep will find out next week if developers have done anything to stop the massive operation shattering their peaceful village.
Banks Mining have announced they are to hold a public exhibition showcasing updated plans for a huge surface mine development to the east of Ledston Village near Castleford and close to the nature reserve of Fairburn Ings.
Locals who have formed pressure group Residents Against Greenbelt Exploitation (Rage) say they are in the dark as to exactly what updates have been made to the plans, which they have been fighting for well over a year.
