NINE members of Scarborough Athletic Club competed in the Rainton 10 kilometre race.
This is a popular race with club members, and is a mainly flat one-lap race, there is a hill after half-way, plus a section of the course which is on country tracks which tends to rule out fast times.
Leading the mainly veteran Scarborough club's athletes home was Ted Kraft who was 20th overall, and the third over-50 of the 293 finishers.
Ted's time of 38.03 was just 12 seconds outside his recent lifetime best. Mark Kendall-Lansell who followed Ted in 27th overall and the seventh over-45, was also close to his best for the year with a 38.54 finish.
