The Russian Communist Party, contrary to what many people in the West are saying, is still dangerous OPINION polls give Gennady Zyuganov, leader of the Russian Communist Party, at least an even chance of winning Russia's presidential election in June. If Mr Zyuganov does that and no more, he will have earned himself a place in the pantheon of Russian communism--not merely as the man who led the communist movement back from dissolution and illegality into power, but as the first of its leaders to beat the democrats at their own game, securing the Kremlin in a free and fair election.
