New York - Funny thing, this market share. The more heaving and hollering companies do to grab a larger portion, the more things stay the same.
HFN's annual major-appliance brand survey of unit sales at retail found there was less movement in 1995 than in some earlier years. Changes up or down tended to tenths of a point; jumps of 3 or 4 percent, as in 1994, were next to nonexistent.
Of course, in such big-ticket items as white goods, 0.1 percent translates into more than $ 10 million.
