Mar. 18--The giant truck-refurbishing facility at the Tooele Army Depot is a hot property.
During the past couple of years, dozens of companies have expressed varying degrees of interest in taking over the now-idle facility owned by the U.S. Army.
Detroit Diesel, a giant Michigan-based manufacturer of heavy-duty engines, is the latest company to cast a covetous eye toward the property.
Its desire to take over the facility by mid-May has Utah Gov. Mike Leavitt and Tooele officials scrambling to get the property out of military hands.
