ST. LOUIS, March 18 /PRNewswire/ -- McDonnell Douglas successfully completed a test firing of a Standoff Land Attack Missile (SLAM) using an automated mission planning module hosted on the Tactical Aircraft Mission Planning System (TAMPS).
"This test includes a number of `firsts' for the SLAM program -- this was the first mission flown using the SLAM mission planning module, and the first cruise missile ever flown with a mission planned on TAMPS," said Howard Anthes, SLAM/SLAM ER program manager for McDonnell Douglas.
