Both formulations of biodegradable polymer paclitaxel-eluting and sirolimus-eluting stents have proved to be both safe and effective, when compared to bare metal stents, according to results after nine months in the PAINT trial.
(The title of the trial in full is Percutaneous Intervention with biodegradable polymer-based paclitaxel-eluting, sirolimus-eluting, or bare stents for the treatment of de novo coronary lesions.)
