David Purcey kept the Buffalo Bisons guessing for seven innings Sunday night.
The 26-year-old left-hander, the only Syracuse Chiefs player in next week's Triple-A All-Star Game, threw a four-hit shutout, striking out seven for his first win since June 10. Relievers Sean Stidfole and Brian Wolfe completed the 4-0 victory at Dunn Tire Park.
The only inning Purcey (7-6) was in trouble was in the fifth when the Bisons loaded the bases on a double by Chris Gimenez, a hit batsman and a walk. But Purcey worked out of it by getting Asdrubal Cabrera to fly out for the final out.
