LONDON -- An ad hoc group of Catholics is circulating a petition calling for the bishops of England and Wales to open the doors to ministry for married clergy.
June 29 has been designated "Petition Sunday" in England and Wales, the first major public push to collect signatures. About 2,000 British Catholics have already signed the petition, which will be delivered to the bishops when they meet in November. For details, visit www.marriedpriests-ew.org.
