Bunzl, an international distribution and outsourcing group, has acquired A&E Russell, a long-standing Glasgow tool and equipment supplier. Bunzl bought the family business, which turns over [pounds sterling]21 million and has estimated assets of some [pounds sterling]10 million, for undisclosed terms.
The A&E Russell deal is a bolt-on acquisition to Greenham, which also supplies a wide range of personal protective equipment and site tools. Bunzl bought Greenham from construction and facilities management services provider Taylor Woodrow in 2000 for [pounds sterling]76 million.
