Regional Internet Registry service provider Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC) and non-profit root server provider Netnod/Autonomica AB have deployed an Internet root server in Sri Lanka to improve Internet speed and reliability.
The new mirror of the root server, i.root-servers.net, which went live on 3 July 2008, is the first root server installed in Sri Lanka, and should bring enhanced speed and reliability to users in the country and the surrounding region, according to APNIC.
