World's foremost food show again lives up to well-earned reputation, despite drop in attendance and elimination of processing equipment displays. Frozen food sector alone hosts 945 suppliers from 62 countries.

From roast chestnuts and Argentinean haunch of hare to ready-to-serve deer dishes and vegetarian spaetzle, there was no shortage of new frozen product introductions at the Anuga World Food Market in Cologne. The planet's largest food exhibition featured 6,336 exhibitors - of which 945 were frozen food suppliers - showing off their stuff to around 190,000 (down from 200,000-plus in 1993) potential buyers over a six-day period that ended Oct. 5.
