LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 20, 1996--Sonic Solutions announced today its plan for delivering the industry's first workgroup-based digital video disc (DVD) encoding and authoring solution -- and the launch of a new "DVD Production Alliance" -- to facilitate the delivery of DVD titles by the end of 1996.
DVD is expected to revolutionize the home entertainment market by placing digital video, surround-sound audio and multiple language subtitles on a single, compact disc-like medium.
