Litter funding to help Kilkenny clean up its act.

KILKENNY will receive 37,000 euro in government funding to help combat the county's litter problem.
The money will come from the Department of the Environment and will be used to keep local towns and villages rubbish and graffiti free.
Local TDs from both sides of politics welcomed the news.
Junior minister for Trade and Enterprise John McGuinness (FF) said the money would complement the action already being taken by Kilkenny County Council.
"Kilkenny County Council implements the Litter Pollution Act in a bid to keep our towns and communities clean but this funding will now include anti-graffiti awareness initiatives such as local media campaigns, clean-ups, ...
