OXFORD - Selectmen met at 6:15 p.m. yesterday, shovels in hand, to officially break ground for the two-story police station to be built on town-owned land at 503 Main St.
While selectmen and Town Manager Joseph M. Zeneski dug with gleaming new golden shovels, Police Chief Michael J. Boss broke ground with a used ceremonial shovel that had been used for the current police station on Nov. 11, 1970.
"It's almost full circle. I want to thank all those who had a hand in making this possible," he said. "I will try to make sure that good work continues after the building is completed. We know that is what counts."
