Healthcare materials management professionals may bemoan the finding that average salaries steadily have slipped for the last four consecutive years, according to Healthcare Purchasing News' latest survey, but they should recognize a few bright spots, including two historical observations.
The average salary reported by materials management respondents slid to $61,904 in 2008 with more than 75 percent indicating their current compensation reflected an increase from the previous year, and nearly 22 percent saying it remained the same.
