ONE of the world's most imposing natural wonders has more than lived up to its name, helping a Dromore man raise in excess of three 'grand' for charity.
James Smyth (41) braved the searing heat of the US state of Arizona to conquer the Grand Canyon in a six-day trek to raise funds for Southern Area Hospice Services.
James and his fellow trekkers negotiated some 50 miles from the top of the canyon's South Rim, across to the top of the North Rim and back again, before celebrating their collective success with three days of well-earned R&R in Las Vegas.
