A HOUSE blighted by tragedy is finally to be torn down - and replaced by one of the most eco-friendly homes in the region.
A terrible fire at 15 The Park, Whithorn, in June 2005 claimed the life of popular resident Ian 'Ibo' Bodle.
Mr Bodle, the secretary of Wigtown Football Club, was rescued alive from his blazing home by Whithorn men Robert Hawthorn and Jimmy Young, but died a few days later from smoke inhalation injuries on July 8th, 2005.
His rescuers were subsequently honoured by the fire brigade for their bravery that day.
