PROBABLY the most historically valuable site in the area - Adwalton Moor battlefield in Drighlington - has been placed on an 'At Risk' register by English Heritage.
The battlefield is one of a number of ancient monuments in Yorkshire that has been deemed to be at risk of damage and decay and in need of action to prevent it being lost for generations to come.
The report, based on a study called Heritage At Risk, is one of the most in-depth ever undertaken into the state of the region's historic treasures. Adwalton Moor is one of a number of English battlefields placed on the list.
