Sarkozy in pledge to solve Lisbon crisis with no two-tier EU
FRENCH President Nicolas Sarkozy said yesterday he'll come up with a solution to Ireland's Lisbon Treaty problem, possibly within just four months.
But the Government said there was no deadline to decide what steps to take following the 'No' vote in last month's referendum.
Mr Sarkozy ruled out a two-tier European Union yesterday following Ireland's rejection of the Lisbon Treaty. He said no member of the European "family'' could be left behind.
But the president also said further expansion of the 27-nation Union was out of the question unless the treaty was kept on track.
