THE standard was as high as always in the SWRI competitions at the Fettercairn Show on Saturday. Two institutes, Laurencekirk and Catterline found themselves vying for most of the silverware and in the end it was honours event between the two.
The Syme Cup for most points overall was shared between Elizabeth Meston, Catterline and Liz Pearson, Laurencekirk.
The Middleton Cup for most points in handcraft was won by Christian Milne, Fettercairn, with Francis Smith, Menmuir, runner-up and the Mrs Michie Cup for most points in baking went to Liz Pearson, with Sheila Lownie, Gourdon, runner-up.
