COUNCILLORS have backed plans for a new children's play area in Peasholm Park.
The plans, which were discussed during a Scarborough Council meeting, would involve [pounds sterling]55,000 from capital contingency going towards immediate works within the park.
A further [pounds sterling]85,000 is recommended to be invested to improve the general condition of the park and property within it.
Northstead councillor Norman Murphy said [pounds sterling]85,000 was a "relatively minor amount of money". He said: "Peasholm Park has been neglected, badly managed, badly organised and badly run and now it is getting the TLC it needs.
