Blanche and Stanley, Stanley versus Blanche; that's the expected focal point around which any production of Tennessee Williams' masterpiece "A Streetcar Named Desire" will revolve. There's often as much electricity from anticipating how the actors will handle these opposing icons as the sparks meant to occur onstage.
Jonno Roberts certainly provides the rough charisma needed for Stanley Kowalski, and Angela Pierce stuns as her Blanche DuBois descends to her doom. Yet in this rendering at Intiman Theatre, it's Chelsey Rives' Stella that surprisingly sets their rules.
