Sexual assault on woman at bus stop.

A 27-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in daylight as she waited for a bus.

She was standing at a bus stop outside Scarborough railway station at 7.25pm when a man approached her. He became verbally abusive before sexually assaulting her.

A police spokesperson said: "The victim's bus, the 7.40pm to Whitby, pulled up at the stop and she was able to push the man away from her.

"She managed to board the bus, escaping her attacker."
