AT THE SHOW -- Air filters are big business, and getting bigger.
Fully 60 companies exhibited wares under the Air Filters show category -- filters, mind you, not air-cleaning devices or electronic air cleaners or other peripherals.
Most exhibitors at these booths said that demand is growing because of interest and awareness of indoor air quality.
"We're the first line of defense," said one exhibitor.
Airguard Industries, Louisville, Ky., showed a new gas turbine filtering system and its "Vari-Pure" gas-phase adsorber, loaded with up to 26 lb of charcoal to eliminate odors.
