MARK Cavendish doubled his tally of Tour de France stage wins by taking the eighth leg of the race today.
As on stage five the Manx Express proved just too fast for all of the world's top sprinters as he hit the line a bike length clear of everyone else after a rained soaked 172.km run from Figeac to Toulouse.
Cavendish seemed too far back on the run in but opened up with his pure speed and flew past Gert Steegmans (Quick Step) and Jimmy Casper (Agritubel).
Cavendish's team mate Gerald Ciolek had the speed to follow him to the line to complete a Team Columbia one-two.
