Mar. 26--Genzyme Corp. yesterday won approval for limited use from a U.S. Food and Drug Administration advisory panel for one of its products to reduce postoperative adhesions in gynecological and abdominal surgeries.
The FDA typically follows the panel's recommendation.
While the Cambridge company claimed victory, citing Seprafilm's 5-1 approval, its general division stock plunged as much as 8 before closing down 6 1-4 at 57 1-4 on heavy trading of 4.745 million shares.
