WORRIED Labour chiefs are sending top Westminster ministers to chap doors in a desperate bid to silence their critics and hold on to Glasgow East.
Strategists believe the July 24 by-election will be much closer than a weekend poll suggesting they were comfortably ahead of the Nats.
And they have drawn up a plan to put candidate Margaret Curran centre stage - while high-profile MSPs, MPs and London government ministers join ordinary activists on the doorsteps.
