It is easy to criticize committees. After all, it was comedian Milton Berle who once said, "A committee is a group that keeps minutes and wastes hours." Someone else once observed about committee work that "we started with three alternate plans and narrowed them down to eight."
All jesting aside, however, it is through the work of committees that associations truly involve members in the creation and modification of programs and activities - work that enables the organization to reach its goals.
