Eee by gum - Yorkshire Day is almost upon us and a Guardian and Herald reader can help kick off a fun-packed day of celebrations at Oakwell Hall to mark the occasion.

Yorkshire Day is officially on August 1, but Oakwell Hall will be the venue for everything Yorkshire on Sunday August 3.

While the day will be full of Yorkshire activities for all the family, there will be one golden opportunity for a nominated and deserving Yorkshire person to officially open the event. The chosen person must have been born in Yorkshire and have a deserving reason to perform this official task.
