Deputy director of economic affairs at the Foreign Ministry, Oded Eran, has announced Israel is to open economic representative offices in Qatar and Oman in the coming weeks. Eran said that a short list of candidates for the posts was currently being examined by ministry officials and top members of the government.
However, the Gulf States are maintaining a tentative approach to the possibility of rescinding their support for the Arab boycott of Israel and of companies conducting business with Israel.
