CHEERS greeted local mum Christine Bonner when she completed a major sponsored walk on Sunday.

Christine was one of three mothers whose soldier sons were killed in Afghanistan to take part in the walk to raise cash for injured soldiers.

The mum from Tydd Gote was also joined by her younger daughter Danielle (21) for the walk, which started last Monday at a military cemetery in Surrey and ended 100 miles later at the Imperial War Museum in Duxford.

Her son Darren, a corporal in the Royal Anglian Regiment, was killed by a roadside bomb in Helmand province last May.
