A BRAVE effort by Kelly Johnson at this weekend's British Olympic Trials was not quite enough to secure her a place on the plane to Beijing.
Yet though the young Sowerby Bridge 800 metre runner was disappointed at not making the squad, her father Alan said not only had she performed admirably in reaching the event's 'B' final, but she had also gained a tremendous amount in the experience of competing against the cream of British athletes at a packed Birmingham Alexander Stadium.
