A SCOTS doctor lied to patients about belonging to the Euthanasia Society, a hearing was told yesterday.
Dr Iain Kerr, who is accused of prescribing pills to enable an elderly patient to commit suicide, told police he claimed to be a member of the group "because it gives patients the choice of discussing end-of-life matters".
