OKLAHOMA CITY--Mar. 29--The House of Representatives on Thursday passed a bill that could draw a national financial-recovery firm and hundreds of jobs to the Tulsa area, but one lawmaker served notice he may ask the House to reconsider its vote.
By a vote of 95-4, the House passed Senate Bill 907, which would add adjustment and collection services to the state's Quality Jobs Act, which gives tax incentives to major new and expanding businesses in the state with payrolls totaling at least $2.5 million.
Rep. Don McCorkell, D-Tulsa, the House author of the measure, later acknowledged that Tulsa is attempting to woo a national financial recovery firm. When asked ...
