The hit group The Isley Brothers, ballad crooner Bobby Womack and bluesman Bo Diddley were among 13 veterans of soul honored at the Rhythm & Blues Foundation's Seventh Annual Pioneer Awards held at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.
Womack is best known for hits like If You Think You're Lonely Now and That's The Way I Feel About Cha. The Isley Brothers' legion of hits include For The Love Of You and It's Your Thing. Bo Diddley, the 1996 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, is remembered for hits like I'm A Man, Who Do You Love and Diddley Daddy.
