A DOCTOR admitted prescribing a powerful sleeping tablet to allowpatients to commit suicide, a hearing was told yesterday.
Dr Iain Kerr confessed during an appraisal that he had given the drug sodiumamytal.
He said he would continue to prescribe it to help patients kill themselves - ifthe circumstances were right.
The Glasgow GP has been accused by the General Medical Council (GMC) ofsupplying a suicidal pensioner with the tablets.
Dr Kerr, 61, is also accused of inappropriate conduct after giving the sleepingtablets to five other patients.
