THEY'VE been together man and bird for 20 years, but today a heartbroken pensioner is appealing for a bird snatcher to return his pal Jasper the parrot.
Distraught John Grimwood (69) is longing to once again hear his chatty African Grey mimicking his voice and grumbling "Where's my food?" as he looks for tasty treats such as Rich Tea biscuits to dunk in his water dish.
He's not the only one. All the residents at an elderly people's complex are missing the babbling bird that whistled at them and imitated their voices when it wasn't meowing like a cat, or chirping like a garden sparrow.
