HARTFORD, Conn. and BLUE BELL, PA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 1, 1996 -- Aetna (NYSE: AET) and U.S. Healthcare (NASDAQ: USHC), two of the nation's leading health care companies, today announced that they have agreed to merge in a transaction valued at $8.9 billion.
