I really enjoyed "Loosening the SSDI Knots" (April-May 2007). I filed for disability in March 2004 and, after two denials, was finally approved in December 2006.
Part of the reason for my denials was, as I later discovered, the law firm I hired to work for me had not filed a single piece of my paperwork. I had sent the firm every letter, hospital note, doctor's note, etc., that I had saved for the past five years, and the firm forwarded none of it along to the hearing office. My sister wound up submitting all of my paperwork to the hearing ...
