In the midst of the fierce fight to end the war in Europe, a battle, little known but of monumental proportions, took place. In all of the Army's official histories of World War II, only about two pages are devoted to the critical campaign to protect the port of Antwerp from German interdiction or destruction. (1) The campaign was Antwerp-X--the secret battle to protect the port of Antwerp from the German V-1 Buzz Bomb.
