When Thami Mpondo, better known as Beat'Oven, was still a laaitjie, he looked up to Skwatta Kamp. But being a Free State-born and bred native, he didn't have direct access to the rap supergroup's music. So "when I found the phone numbers of Slik (a Skwatta founding member) I called him up and bought Skwatta Kampain directly from him," beams Beat'Oven.
