A BATLEY sub-postmaster is urging the council to make sure post offices still in business keep their card account contracts.
Ismail Loonat, from Batley's main post office in Upper Commercial Street, warned more closures were inevitable and urged the council and MP Mike Wood to fight to ensure post offices keep their post office account card contracts.
The contracts are due to expire in 2011 and, if they are then given to banks instead, Mr Loonat warned it would be the death of post offices.
