THE elderly will feel the brunt of the decision to close two of Batley's post offices.
Gill Paterson, Soothill Forum chairwoman, said: "It's very sad for the community, particularly for the elderly and disabled - I don't know what they are going to do. Not everyone has got a computer for online banking or a bank account.
"A lot of hard work has been put in by Mike Wood and his colleagues. So many people were against the closure - I thought it could be saved."
One Soothill pensioner said: "If any were to be kept open it should have been Soothill. What will happen to the shop itself now? Is it big enough to stay open? If it closes there is nowhere here for me to ...
