The future of Longford's local economy looks set to receive a major boost after it was revealed the same company who discovered a multi million gold reserve in Monaghan recently have since unearthed evidence of gold deposits in soil samples taken from the Longford-Cavan border.
Chairman of Conroy Diamonds and Gold Professor Richard Conroy confirmed initial explorative studies along the Longford-Down Massif were "positive" in what could prove to be a major development for industry and prospective job creation in the months ahead.
